The M4FR5969SRGZT-MLS is a radiation-hardened mixed-signal microcontroller from Texas Instruments' MSP430FR5969-SP series, designed for high-reliability applications in harsh environments, such as space. At its core, the microcontroller features a 16-bit RISC architecture running at up to 16 MHz. It integrates 64 KB of nonvolatile Ferroelectric RAM (FRAM) and 2 KB of RAM, providing a unified memory space for program, data, and storage. The device includes a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with up to 16 external input channels, five 16-bit timers, a 32-bit hardware multiplier, and supports multiple communication protocols, including UART, I²C, and SPI. Notably, it offers radiation hardness assurance, being single-event latchup (SEL) immune to 72 MeV·cm²/mg at 125°C and radiation lot acceptance tested to 50 krad, making it suitable for space applications.
